PROFHILO
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an innovative and award-winning 'injectable moisturiser' that plumps, hydrates and treats skin laxity. Profhilo is made of hyaluronic acid, a component that is naturally present in our skin; as we age we lose hyaluronic acid and this is what causes lines, wrinkles, dull skin and skin laxity.
Profhilo is different from dermal fillers as it is not a volumising product and does not relax the muscles like Botox does. The high levels of hyaluronic acid in Profhilo work to remodel the skin, and we have seen some jaw dropping results in the clinic. Profhilo is injected just below the skin’s surface in two sessions, four weeks apart and works brilliantly on the cheeks, neck, chest and décolletage. You can expect to start noticing a difference four weeks following treatment with effects lasting up to six months.
We perform many Profhilo treatments in our clinic based near Ipswich, Suffolk.
How does Profhilo Work?
Profhilo is primarily a moisturiser, unlike other injectable treatments. It contains 100% synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) and the ingredients can work from deep within the skin to rehydrate and plump making it far more effective than topical or skin-applied moisturisers, even if they contain hyaluronic acid. With one of the highest concentrations of HA currently available, it not only boosts and hydrates, but can dramatically reduce fine lines and remodel sagging and ageing skin.
How Long Does Profhilo Last?
After initial treatment, Profhilo can last for between 4-6 months. It is recommended that you start with 2 treatments 4-6 weeks apart and then monitor the results after that - many clients only need a Profhilo top-up once or twice a year following the initial treatment!
What Areas Does Profhilo Treat?
Profhilo is most commonly used for facial areas including:
- Top of the cheeks
- nasolabial fold
- laughter lines
- mouth and chin
- rejuvenating the neck
- décolletage
- back of the hands
It can be used in most areas of the skin to help rejuvenate and bring a fresh glowing look!
What Are the Risks of Profhilo?
Because Profhilo uses only Hyaluronic Acid there is very limited risk to the injectable treatment. However, whenever you are injecting into the face you must always be sure that your aesthetics practitioner is knowledgable in facial anatomy and can support you should any side effect occur - that is why I recommend that you use a medical qualified aesthetics practitioner such as a Doctor, Dentists, or a Nurse.

Commonly Asked Questions
Profhilo is an injectable rejuvenation treatment made of high levels of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of our skin.
As we age the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, leading to a drop in youthful elasticity and firmness of the skin. Profhilo works by boosting the levels of hyaluronic acid to combat skin ageing.
Profhilo is different from dermal fillers as it is not used to add volume to the skin. It is different from Botox as it does not work on relaxing the facial muscles. Profhilo is made up of high levels of hyaluronic acid that acts as an anti-ageing treatment, it works to improve the quality of the skin and reduces skin laxity.
Profhilo administration consists of ten small injections. These injections can sting a little bit but most patients report the procedure is comfortable.
Most commonly treated areas in the clinic are the face and neck. Other areas that can be treated include the hands and the décolletage.
