DERMAL FILLERS
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a component that is naturally present in your skin to produce plumpness and volume. As we age we can experience loss of volume and dermal fillers aim to restore this. Dermal Filler can be used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and enhance features. Common areas treated include nose to mouth lines, marionette lines, cheeks, tear troughs and lips.
Dermal fillers are a very popular treatment at the clinic as they provide immediate results. They are used to rejuvenate the face by reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles and can help to add volume and hydration to reduce the appearance of ageing.
If you want to find out more about our dermal fillers or to book a consultation appointment please contact us, we perform these types of treatment almost every day in our clinic based near Ipswich, Suffolk.
Why are Dermal Fillers Used?
As you age, your body starts to lose collagen as part of the natural aging process. Collagen is an important substance that exists all over your body, including in your skin, muscles, bones, and connective tissues. Decreased amounts of collagen in your skin causes skin laxity (loose) and loss of volume.
Dermal fillers can be used to help solve the following issues:
- Add volume to lax or sagging skin
- Make your facial features more symmetrical
- Plump up lips, cheeks, and areas around the nose
- Smooth wrinkles and lines in your face
Are Dermal Fillers Safe?
Yes Dermal Fillers are perfectly safe as hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body already. There are risks associated with the injection of Dermal Fillers however and that is why it is extremely important that you only see a medical professional for your filler treatment (Nurse, Doctor, or Dentist) as they will be best placed to understand facial anatomy and support you should any side effect occur.

All the dermal fillers used at the clinic are made up of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally occurring in our skin. All our dermal fillers are of premium quality and we do not compromise on the brands that we use.
Due to hyaluronic acid being a component that naturally occurs in our body, any hyaluronic acid injections gradually break down over time.
The effects of fillers generally last for between 6-18 months, depending on individual factors such as the area of the face the filler has been used and a patient’s metabolism and level of activity.
Risks include: swelling, bleeding, bruising and infection.
A full consent that outlines all risks will be discussed at your appointment before treatment takes place.
Swelling and bruising tends to last for a few days following treatment but the clinic recommends that treatment is completed at least fourteen days before a special event, such as a wedding, to ensure that the filler has settled nicely.
