What’s the right option for me – Profhilo vs Filler vs Botox?

Many of my patients ask me, what is the best option for me? Profhilo, Filler, or Botox? In this blog, I am going to give you a brief overview of each of those treatments. Of course, if you are interested, and you are based in Suffolk, Ipswich, Woodbridge, or the surrounding areas, feel free to reach out to me and book a no-obligation appointment to discuss the best options for you.

If you are at all concerned about Botox, Fillers, or Profhilo, I hope that this post will give you a better understanding of the treatments and alleviate your concerns.

What is Botox (Anti-wrinkle injections)?

Botox injections use a toxin called onobotulinumtoxinA to temporarily prevent a muscle from moving and will help smooth wrinkles caused by muscle movement in the face. It’s not permanent – it usually lasts for around 3 or 4 months.

Botox temporarily relaxes muscles by blocking the chemical signals between nerves. Botox is used to smooth wrinkles, common areas to treat are frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. Botox also has multiple other uses such as reducing tooth grinding, preventing excess sweating, and lifting the neck and lower face.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Most dermal fillers used in the UK contain a natural substance called bonded hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring component in our skin, and they are used to fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as your lips or cheeks.

Fillers are not permanent. How long they last will depend on things like the type of filler and where it’s injected. They usually last between 6 and 18 months.

Dermal filler works to provide volume, hydration, and plumpness to areas of the face such as lips and cheeks.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable anti-aging treatment made from hyaluronic acid for skin that is losing its elasticity and firmness with age. It can be used on the face, neck, decollete, arms, hands, and knees, or any part of your body where the skin shows visible signs of aging. There is an immediately noticeable improvement in skin tone, hydration as well as firmness, and lines are minimized. Profhilo, like dermal filler, is made up of hyaluronic acid but in a freer, looser form than filler. Profhilo is used as a skin booster to increase levels of collagen and elastin. Profhilo improves skin quality, lifts, tightens, and sculpts. Profhilo can be used in the face, neck, décolletage, hands, arms, and legs.. really anywhere on the body!
